We know that planning your getaway is exciting, and we want to make it as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Here, we’ve answered some of the most common questions our guests ask. Whether you’re wondering about check-in times, pet-friendly policies, or activities at the resort, you’ll find the answers right here. What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Check-out time is 11:00 am.

Is there cell phone or internet access available?
We are off-grid, so there is no cell service or internet access at the resort. The nearest reception is about 45 minutes away in Barriere. For emergencies, we have a satellite phone available.

Can I invite friends to join me at my cabin or campsite?
The resort facilities are reserved for registered guests only. We ask that you request approval before inviting visitors. There is no day-use area at the resort.

Is it true there’s a beautiful white sandy beach here?
While we wish we had one, there are no beaches on or around Johnson Lake. This is a high-altitude lake surrounded by trees that grow right down to the shoreline. It’s a peaceful, natural setting for relaxation!

Is there a day-use area for non-registered guests?
We do not offer a day-use area at the resort.

Can we bring our pets?
Pets are welcome! Just let us know when you make your reservation. Please keep your pet on a leash at all times and ensure they are well-behaved. For full details, please review our Pet-Friendly Policy before bringing your furry friends.

Can I use a generator?
Generators are allowed for RV use only between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. No generators are permitted in the cabins.

Can I bring an ATV or motorbike?
ATVs and motorbikes are not allowed at the resort during June, July, and August. However, they are welcome after the September long weekend, once hunting season begins.

Do you have watercraft for rent?
Yes! We offer motor boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards for rent. Be sure to reserve in advance — at least 48 hours before arrival. Visit our [Watercraft Rentals page] to make a reservation.

Can I bring my own boat?
Yes, you can bring your own boat! We offer a boat launch and moorage on Big Johnson Lake (maximum 16’ boat). No ski boats or jet skis are allowed. We also provide a battery charging station for electric motors.

What are your quiet hours?
Quiet time is from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. We ask that all guests respect these hours to ensure everyone’s peace and enjoyment.

Can we bring a propane fire pit during a campfire ban?
During a campfire ban, CSA-approved propane fire pits are allowed. Please bring your own propane (20 lb. tanks), which can be refilled in Barriere. Can I buy a fishing license at the resort?
We do not sell fishing licenses, but they are available online for one-day, eight-day, or annual passes. Visit the B.C. Recreational Freshwater Fishing Licence page of the Province of British Columbia official website for more details.

Is the water safe to drink?
The water at the resort is spring-fed and untreated, so we recommend bringing your own drinking water.

What forms of payment do you accept?
For reservations, we prefer E-transfer for the deposit. Once at the resort, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Interac, cheques, and cash.

Is there a store or restaurant nearby?
We have a small camp store with basic groceries and supplies, but no restaurant. The town of Barriere (45 minutes away) has a grocery store and a few restaurants.
